The BEST Brownies (8x8 inch pan)

Brownies are one of the more simple baked goods to create, but with some specific ingredients and ratios you can completely elevate your brownies! (made from scratch of course <3).

Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cacao

  • 1 1/2 sticks of salted butter (3/4 cup)

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and line an 8X8 inch pan with parchment paper.

  2. First brown the butter! In a skillet/saucepan at medium-low heat, melt the butter and let simmer until it has browned. (This can take 8-10 minutes) Set aside and let cool to room temperature.

  3. Add the browned butter to a large bowl with the sugar, eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until smooth.

  4. Add the all purpose flour and cacao into this mixture. Fold in the flour and cacao with a rubber spatula. Fold in some chocolate chips as well. (I used white chocolate chips!)

  5. Smooth out the batter into the pan (making sure it is evenly distributed throughout the pan).

  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Poke the brownies with a toothpick and if it comes out clean they should be down. Make sure to let the brownies cool in the pan and then enjoy!
